A few years ago, we took the whole family to France, about 5 hours north of where we live, to Carcasonne. Our daughter, Jenny, was visiting during her University break over Christmas so we headed out to stay in a French country home for 4 days and visit historic Carcasonne. These little guys FILLED a self serve bakery within the castle walls. We fell in love with them! So hard to choose which ones to take home. Then harder still to actually eat them! They are French Marzipan, made by some very creative pastry chefs. The city itself was beautiful, medieval and welcoming. We finally did get brave enough to eat them, but sadly, we realized we loved looking at them and were not too crazy about eating them. :-(
